Sequences and series are new to this
level, at least in New York State. Basic treatment of this important concept is given in this unit. Sequences
are introduced through both function formulas and through recursive definitions. Arithmetic and geometric sequences
are then developed with emphasis placed on predicting the general term of the sequence. Finally, both arithmetic and
geometric series are derived and used to solve practical applications.
