This unit serves as
a brief introduction to the rich field of complex numbers. Students have the idea of the imaginary base developed from
the perspective of the roots of a quadratic. Complex numbers are then first depicted graphically in the Complex (Argand)
Plane with their basic arithmetic emphasized. Quadratic equations are solved that result in complex roots. The
discriminant of the quadratic is then examined and its value is tied to the roots and intercepts of the associated parabola.
